Food additives do not equate to illegal additives

According to the Food Safety Law, China has established a series of management systems for food additives.

We have established a food safety risk assessment system for food additives and formulated over 700 mandatory national food safety standards, including regulations on the use of food additives, product requirements, production specifications, labeling and labeling, and inspection methods.
In addition, requirements for the production, operation, and use of food additives, as well as corresponding supervision and management systems, as well as import and export management systems for food additives, have been established.
Food additives are safe when used legally. So far, no food safety incidents in China that pose a threat to human health have been caused by the legitimate use of food additives.
The illegal behavior of using food additives beyond the scope and limits, as well as adding non edible substances, is the root cause of food safety issues. In the melamine milk powder incident, melamine is not a food additive! In the "Sudan Red Duck Egg" incident, Sudan Red is not a food additive either! In the "Duck Blood Poison" incident, formalin is not even a food additive! For food, it is considered an illegal additive. The Food Safety Law of our country explicitly prohibits the production and operation of food that exceeds the scope and limit of the use of food additives; Food produced from non food raw materials or food with added chemicals and other substances that may pose a threat to human health.
Food additives are completely different from illegal additives, and consumers do not need to deliberately avoid food additives. They should view them scientifically and rationally. In order to further crack down on the illegal addition of non edible substances and the abuse of food additives in food production, sales, and catering services, a series of special rectification measures have been carried out nationwide. Over the past decade, six batches of the "List of Non edible Substances that may be illegally added to food and Food Additives that are prone to abuse" have been released. Currently, the relevant list is being further improved to ensure the "safety on the tip of the tongue" of consumers.
